This is the ninth book of our Freedom Town Series. Justin Sheffield left home as a teenager before the Civil War because he hated slavery on the Sheffield Plantation.  His father was killed during the war, and he inherited the plantation.  Justin lived in Freedom Town, Colorado, but paid the taxes to keep the plantation.  During reconstruction, Justin learned of a carpetbagger scheme to grab existing plantations.  His taxes were raised, and he and his wife, Gracie, headed to Louisiana to save the plantation.  They were accompanied by a group of tough Freedom Towners in case bullets were the solution. Justin and his friends figured out the evil scheme perpetrated by a Judge, a banker, and the Sheriff, and stymied it. The story is action-packed and demonstrates how a man can unexpectedly come full circle in his life.
